Go Green!

That’s a phrase I heard a lot when I was a child. Both my grandfather and father were Dartmouth grads. There were also several uncles that did time there. It was very apparent that we were a Green family and it was understood that we would apply to Dartmouth when it was time to go away to college. The trouble was I only made the waiting list. I wouldn’t carry on the family tradition of going to an Ivy League college. Not a big deal, right? I’ve long since moved on from that failure. So, why am I writing about it thirty years later, you ask. Well, I’ve been consulting on the launch of a new brand and just the other day a rogue employee changed an employee name on the company website to Go Green. Today marks one year, 364 days to be exact, since I left my job in corporate America. I gave myself 1 year to write and publish my book, Stonewall to Obama. Well, on January 12th of this year, I published that book – 6 months ahead of my 1 year goal.

I’ve teamed up with Lifebeat to fight HIV/AIDS. Lifebeat fights AIDS by creating awareness of the disease through music. I’m so proud to be part of the team. We’re raising $12,500 and my goal is $2,500. But, I know we can do better than that. I need your help. Won’t you please click the link below for my fundraising page and donate to the cause. Even a small donation of $10 will help. Thank you in advance for your support.

Self-care for me means putting myself first. No one is going to prioritize my well being for me. It’s up to me to know what is best for me and to give it to myself. I can only serve others by taking care of myself first. Plan your day around your workout!
